Christmas FHE last night

Thanks to Steph and Shane we had a great Christmas FHE last night at their house.

The evening started out horrible when I was late in getting packages out for the mail man - which made us late in getting out the door. When we and our stuff were finally all in the car, it wouldn't start. We figured that it was just low on gas so Bob ran to the garage to grab our lawnmower gas can. He put the quarter of a gallon that was in it - into the car. Then got into the car and it started just fine. Yea! We drove down the street, turned the corner and the car died. Grrr!

No clue what was wrong, so Bob ran back to the house to get his little car. We moved our things into that car and left the dead car on the side of the street.

On the way to their house I realized that I'd forgotten to make and bring a salad that I said I'd make for dinner. Oh well - Steph and Shane aways make more than enough food. We drove to Eric's house to pick him up and take him to the FHE with us.

Had a wonderful evening at their house. Pork and potatoes for dinner, which we really love. Then we had FHE. Shane read a cute Nephite story about Christmas and then Stephanie had Bob read a story about Santa and baby Jesus. It was really nice. Then we exchanged our family gifts. We gave Eric a deck of funny big cards and a black Star Wars t-shirt. He gave us 3 fun movies. Steph and Shane had us for Christmas in our family rotation so they gave us our gift too. They got Bob the first season of Smallville on DVD and a 2007 Calendar. They gave me a gift card and some nice smelling soap from bath and body works. They gave Braden a Gap jacket and a cute 'learn to draw' book. We loved it all - of course! We brought a little gift for the girls, 2 coloring books, some stickers, and some crayons. We also gave Eric and Steph/Shane some chocolate covered pretzels.

It was a great evening. We got home safely. Bob put lots of gas in the other car and it drives just fine now.
