Afterward, they also decided to go ahead with something they've been telling me that needed to be done for about 2 years. He had this little piece of skin on the inside middle of his top lip that was attached to the gums right between his top two teeth. And today they cut it apart.
Braden was so brave - I was worried that he'd be kicking and screaming like he did when getting his shots at his 5 year-old checkup last summer. He's definitely getting more grown up.
He was very nervous and scared, but he held very still as instructed while they numbed his lip and then quickly cut the skin with a cool electricity tool. I noticed that just before they began cutting, he had tears streaming down his cheeks, but he still didn't move a muscle - my sweet boy! They told him that he did wonderful. The dentist said that he'll always have a scar there but it won't be noticeable because - how many people look inside under their top lip?
He's been great since coming home and hasn't complained of any pain other than asking every 5 minutes or so that first hour - "when is my lip gonna not be numb anymore?"
Mylie's been battling a mid-grade fever for just over 24 hours now, with no other symptoms other than a tiny runny nose. Clear though - so we think it's just teething. We've been doing a lot of cuddling and trying to keep cool. She isn't eating much, but is drinking a LOT of fluids.
I was released from my calling tonight and given a new one. I am excited (and nervous) for this new calling, but a little bit sad because my last calling was pretty awesome. I can't wait to congratulate whoever gets it next - a calling that only keeps you busy for a day or two, 4-5 times a year is RARE and very, very special.
We got a lot of FREE stuff yesterday from our duplex neighbor that moved out on Sunday. A kids hard sided pool with a built-in slide (Braden is so excited about this one), a baby water float boat thingy, this slide and this sandbox in perfect condition, a plastic wagon full of legos, a green plastic patio table, a garbage bag full of plastic hangers and this chair.

congrats on the free stuff... I love nice free stuff that you need, like and want. Sad about the calling but can't wait to see what the next one is. You are amazing so I know you will do well with what ever it is.
Give Mylie loves for us and tell her to feel better soon. Let Branden know we think he is brave and good job.
Thanks Jen!
