Saturday yard clean-up project

I went to Costco on Friday and found some beautiful pansies that I decided MUST be planted in our front yard. Little did I know that this would turn into an expensive all day long project.

Mylie wants to know what in the WORLD are we doing?

You see, our front berm was UGLY. Pretty much just a big mound of ugly dirt with a tree and a bush in the middle, surrounded by some decorative bricks. I forgot to take a before pic...

MY plan was to pull the weeds, plant the pansies and then drop a few bags of mulch on top of the berm - it would be a QUICK project and add a little color to our yard.

Bob's idea was a little different. He wanted to put landscaping fabric down first (luckily my dad had some extra!), then add some bark and then plant the pansies. The hardest part of this project was knowing HOW much bark to buy. He bought 3 bags on the 1st trip to Walmart. Then he went back and bought 4 more bags...

While he was gone the second time, Braden, Mylie and I played around taking pictures and having fun in the yard.

See our pretty flowers?

Look! A worm! It was soooo long!

Mylie loves my phone - still. We even got a cute video of her holding it up to her ear and then later of her rocking back and forth to the music. So adorable!

When Bob got back from the 2nd trip, he planted the pansies while I took Mylie inside. She was tired of all the fresh air and needed a nap. After getting them planted, we decided to all go BACK to walmart to get 3 more bags of bark.

Here's the finished project! Doesn't that look nice!?!
