We ended up having several little parties for Braden this year and Thursday was his first party. My parents decided to start a new tradition this year and find a fun thing to do for the grandkids' birthdays with Grammy and Papa. Braden told them that he wanted to eat mashed potatoes for dinner, so Grammy and Papa decided to take him to KFC and then to ride the Paddle Boats at Julia Davis Park afterward. It was a lot of fun! He even got to open some gifts at KFC and the girl working there was suprised that we were having a birthday party there and commented, "Don't most people go to pojo's or something like that?" Nice.
His gifts: SpongeBob Memory game, 2 bakugans, M&M Wii game, shirt, dinner, paddle boat ride.
Friday (his actual birthday) we had no plans and so decided to go to Rafiki. Stephanie, Savanah, Michaela and Jayden came along and we had a great relaxing (for the Moms) day. That night Bob made plans with a friend from high school to meet at Settler's Park for a picnic dinner. We ate and the boys played a little Frisbee and then we all headed to our house to watch a movie. Braden got to pick the movie because it was his birthday and he chose Flushed Away. It was a fun evening visiting and laughing with friends.
His gifts: fun at Rafiki with Savanah
Saturday at 2:00 was Braden's party with friends. We decided on an "Up!" themed party and decorated with lots of balloons everywhere! We played lots of games with the balloons, ate cup cakes and ice cream, opened presents and then the kids played with some of Braden's new things.
His gifts: Lite Brite, silly string, Crayola art set, Shrek DVD games, sidewalk chalk, SpongeBob legos, SpongeBob matchbox cars, Skateboarder lego set, Crayola Cars coloring book, fun with friends!
Saturday night we had Grandma Sara and Lily over for dinner. Braden requested Meatloaf and Mashed Potatoes for his birthday dinner. This is what he asked for last year too. Cute boy! He opened presents from them before eating dinner and after dinner we had cupcakes and ice cream again. That night we had Lily spend the night. They watched Bolt while coloring in Braden's new Car's coloring books.
His gifts: a City lego set, Crayola Deluxe Cars coloring book, Cars flashlight, mini M&Ms, sticker book and stickers, fun with Grandma and Lily.
As you can see, Braden is a very spoiled {LOVED} boy. He also got a card & check in the mail from Grandpa Irish and cards & a few dollars from is Great Aunt Linda and Great Grandma Gullans.
Happy Birthday to my Braden!
