Maine to New York - Day 5

 Travel day!
We started the day by checking out of our room at the Sanford Inn.  Then we picked up Bob's mom and grandma and took them to breakfast at a cute little place called The Sunrise Restaurant.  We picked it mostly for it's easy access for Grandma Gullans, but the food was pretty good too.
After breakfast, we said goodbye to Grandma Gullans and then ran a few errands with Sara Jo.  We had some family history copies made and then shopped at an interesting store, Mardens.  It was kinda like a cross between a dollar store and a Big Lots.  We found some fun books, a shopping cart pattern cover for a $1, and some cheap sprinkles.
We took Sara Jo back to Linda's house and said goodbye to her.  She said that she was going to go straight inside to cry, so I told her to eat chocolate instead.  On our way out of town, we decided to stop at the Sanford Public Library where Linda works, to say goodbye to her again.  And then off we went!

I like to take pictures of funny things while we drive.  I'm thinking of copying this and getting "School Bus" printed on the back of my van - what do you think?

Peter Pan bus - driving to Neverland?

I saw an exit boasting a Panera Bread, so we stopped there for lunch.

 "James" my driver

2 must haves: EZ Pass for the toll roads and a GPS (Bob's dad was so nice to send the EZ pass to us!)

Satellite Radio made the drive much more fun.  We listened to mostly Disney music.

Cool bridge - Piscataqua River Bridge

New Hampshire state line inside the bridge

what the sign says!

Our first view of Albany, NY.  Bob's dad had a Dr. appt and wasn't quite home yet, so we drove right into the city to have a look around.

We got to Bob's Dad's house just after 5pm.  We hung out a bit, ate some dinner (Dad I. and I had homemade chili that Lesley made - and Bob had cereal), Bob and his Dad took the rental car back, and we watched the DVD that Bob made of the kids.  We stayed up late just talking to Dad I. and Lesley.

(I'm just going to refer to Bob's dad as 'Dad I.' in these trip posts, because they both go by Bob.)
