New York - Day 8

Today, we slept in a bit.  Me more than others.  I love sleep.  Lesley made us a yummy hot breakfast and we made plans for the day.  We decided to just stay close because we had done so much traveling the day before.

Dad I. took us to see this house that he said he lived in when he was about kindergarten age.  I think they lived in the 2nd floor apartment.  Then for some reason we put the camera away and didn't get it back out until after dinner.

Dad I. then showed us the way he walked to his school and then the school he attended.  I wanted to check out another antique store, so he took us to a huge one - Coxsackie Antique Center.  There was so much to see there and so much that I would have loved to take home with me if we lived closer.  Bob picked up 3 more vintage ads for his collection and I bought a pretty glass dish.

It was later in the day when we were done, so we decided to stop at Stewart's for some ice cream to tide us over until dinner.  They had 50 cent scoops for St. Patrick's day.  Dad I said that his favorite thing about Stewart's is that their cash register makes a "ca-ching" noise at the end of every transaction - mimicking old cash registers. Love it!

We drove back towards Dad I's house, stopping in Albany to check out Washington Park, but really all we saw was tons of litter from the aftermath of their St. Patrick's day parade and tons and tons of people all dressed in green and already bar hopping.

We got home and Lesley had dinner ready for us.  A few minutes later, Dad I's sister, her daughter and her daughter's husband came over to visit and brought pizza to have dinner with us.  It was nice meeting another of Dad I's siblings and her family.

That evening while I started packing, Bob walked around the house and took some pics:

The computer room

Living room. (Lesley and me)

The workshop

More of the workshop, storage on the end, and a future powder room at the back.

The man cave.  This is where Dad I. works on computers and cash registers, a little room off the workshop.

Little tiny networking room.

More of the networking room, look at all those wires.  He also keeps his air compresser in this room to buffer the sound.

Dining room and peek into the kitchen.
We weren't ready for the day to end even though we had to get up super early the next morning, so we watched a new episode of Fairly Legal before heading to bed.
