I am blessed to be a mother!

Very busy weekend this weekend! Saturday started earlier than usual as we got up early to head to Boise for the 9th annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. At the race, we headed to the Hikin' for Healthy Hooters team booth - where we met up with Becky Hays, Mom, Dad, Stephanie, Savanah, Dan, Michaela, Shane, Stephanie, Lily and Jessica. We hung out for a while and spent time waiting for the race to start by going around to all the booths to check out the free goodies they offered. My favorite is the pink Ford Warriors scarf! I wore it around my head almost the whole day. We visited with everyone and then the race started. We did just the 1-mile walk. After the race, we went to a Team picnic at Phillippi park.
We came home at about 3:00, did some things around the house and then I convinced Bob to take me out to dinner at my favorite mexican resturaunt, Chapalas, for an early Mother's Day celebration. It was very yummy. Then we drove over to Liz and Joe's to visit and pick up some Pampered Chef stuff that I'd ordered. I also really needed to hold a baby, so she let me hold her 6-week old, Madison the whole time we were there. I really needed that.
We got home at about 8:00 and watched the movie, Music & Lyrics. Cute movie!

Sunday morning started off cute. Braden woke me up with an enthusiastic 'Happy Mother's Day!' and gave me a cute card that Bob helped him pick out. He even drew a picture of me inside it. Too cute. Then he and Bob made me breakfast of heart shaped pancakes and apple juice. Yummy. Then Bob gave me his card and a cute little silver keychain with our last initial on it.
At church, Braden got to participate for the first time in a Primary program. He did pretty good, but after a while, got tired of standing up there. So his teacher brought he and a couple of other kids down to sit with their parents. In his class, they made cookies for their mothers and after church, the priesthood gave all the mothers some flowers to plant. I got pink ones.
After church, I finished up mom's mother's day gift - a house shaped chipboard album. I titled it 'Home is wherever MOM is.' Inisde I put pictures of her with all the people in our family, some quotes I found on the internet and some fun embellishments.
Then we headed to Mom & Dad's where Bob gave mom his card and dropped Braden and I off. He left to spend the rest of the evening with his mom. We gave her a new door mat for her apartment and a silver keychain. Braden and I had dinner with the Johnson family, then we opened gifts and then some of Dad's siblings came over to spend time with Grandma. Mom and Dad gave me a cute book and a 72-hour kit for Mother's day. Nikki gave me a cute card and her graduation announcement.
We talked for a while and then decided to go see Dan and Michaela's apartment. They're getting it decorated so cute! I gave them the flowered couches that we had in our living room (that Mom and Dad gave us) and I think that they're going to slipcover them. They already have sooo much stuff from the 3 bridal showers that Michaela's had - their apartment is going to be over flowing after the wedding reception here and the one that they'll have in Utah a couple of weeks after the wedding.
At home last night I got to thinking about how blessed I am to be a mother. I may not have as many children as I'd like to have right now, but I do have one wonderful little boy - and he sure is amazing! He is learning new things everyday and has the sweetest spirit ever. And I have the most wonderful husband ever, who gave me the opportunity to be a mother - and for that, I will be forever grateful.
