Our day started with breakfast at Dunkin' Donuts. They are on almost every corner out there. We enjoyed juice, hot chocolate and a coffee cake muffin. Then we drove to pick up Bob's mom and Aunt Linda for a day of shopping and sight-seeing. It was Linda's birthday, so she took the day off to have fun with us.
Our first stop/drive-by was this house in Rochester, NH where Bob's family lived when he was born until he was 3 or 4 years old. Sara Jo told us that Bob's dad had built the addition onto the back of the house, but that the garage and rock wall are more recent additions.
Then we drove to Barington, NH where we went to The Christmas Dove shop. It's a really cute store, that's actually pretty big. It sells Christmas decor all year round. The top floor has toys and trains. Bob and I picked up a Christmas ornament here that has a lighthouse on it. Even though we didn't see a lighthouse on our trip, the ornament will remind us of our visit.
Just down the street from the Christmas Dove shop is Calef's Gift Shop and Country Store. I would have purchased the whole inventory of the gift shop a few years ago - it's all country/primitive decor, but we're kinda leaning away from that look with our current house. It was still fun to see. The country store was neat. Linda had a co-worker that asked her to "pretty please" pick up a pickle for her there. They sell huge pickles in a huge barrel there. We picked up some fun candy for Bob's grandma Gullans, some real maple syrup and a whoopie pie for Bob.
Lunch was back in Rochester, NH at Friendly's. Very tasty.
Bob was born in Frisbie Hospital. His mom said that it has changed quite a bit, but we just had to get a picture for family history.
We also stopped at Kohls so Linda could use some birthday coupons that she had. Bob is in need of new clothes, so I found a new shirt for him and he picked out a new jacket. There are a few pictures of him wearing it in other posts from this trip.

Our next stop was the cemetery in Sanford, ME to see the grave sites of Bob's Grandpa Gullans and 2 of his cousins - Jeremiah & Heather.
We then dropped of Linda so that her husband, David, could take her out to dinner for her birthday. We stopped at Walmart to pick up a few things and a quick gift to take to a little family party for Linda that night. We had dinner at Dunkin' Donuts, sub-kinda sandwiches and soda.
Linda's party was held in the rec. room of the assisted living apartment building that Grandma Gullans is living in.
A lady in their ward made this cute cake.
Singing "Happy Birthday!"
Blowing out the candles!
Opening the gift we gave her - just a yummy smelling candle in a pretty jar.
Family picture - me, Bob, Sara-Jo, Aunt Linda, Aunt Eileen and Grandma Gullans (sitting).
We forgot to get pictures of everyone that came to the party. Also at the party were:
Linda's husband David
Linda's daughter Amy, her boys Brayden & Hunter, and her step-daughter Lauren (I think)
Linda's son Joshua and his wife Jean and their 2 boys Marcus and Conner
Aunt Eileen's (another of Sara Jo's sisters) granddaughter Kaylee
