Trip East - Day 1

We were so lucky to be able to go visit Bob's parents for a few days this year.  We were gone from the 10th of March to the 18th.   My mom was amazing and drove to get my baby sister from Rexburg a few days before hand so that she could help out with taking care of the kids.  We left the kids with my parents Friday night and my mom took us to the airport bright and early Saturday morning.
Bob took this picture of inside the airport while we were waiting in line to check our bag.  Security was pretty painless and we had some time to spare once we got thru, so Bob grabbed me some breakfast at McDonalds.  Our first flight left at 6:57am and landed at 11:25am ( in Chicago.  Bob ate breakfast on the plane and watched the movie "The Artist" and part of an episode of "Big Bang Theory".
At the Chicago airport, we checked out the interesting restrooms and had some sub sandwiches for lunch.
Then we got on our 2nd flight at 12:58pm and landed in Portland, ME at 4:09pm
When we landed, we grabbed our bag and our rental car - a Dodge Caliber - and headed to our room at the Hampton Inn.  We went to dinner at the Weathervane, we chose it because it boasted seafood and Bob was ready for it.  He got fish & chips - I don't do seafood - so I had chicken tenders.

We weren't ready to call it a night, so Bob got out his iPhone and looked up the local movie theater where we watched "The Vow".  I really liked it.
That night we went to bed early because of the Daylight Savings Time (spring forward!) and because we needed to get up early Sunday morning to drive to Sanford, ME to spend time with Bob's mom.
