My parents went up to the campground Thursday night and took Braden and my niece Savanah with them. We went up on Friday after Bob got off of work and got there just after 9pm. Bob got our tent set up and I organized all of the beds and bedding inside. We had Clark sleep in his pack n play to keep him from tossing and turning all over the tent. Turns out we should have had Mylie in one too, she was everywhere in her sleep.
Saturday morning, mom and dad made us pancakes and eggs for breakfast. We mostly just hung around and got cleaned up for the day while the kids played and played. We all pitched in to make hoagie sandwiches for lunch. After lunch we celebrated Bob's birthday with some Strawberry Shortcake and then I gave him his gifts - Mater's Tall Tales DVD and a new iPad! He was pretty surprised.
Later we took the kids to the creek and play. The water was pretty cold, so we didn't stay very long. Mom and dad made Dutch-oven burritos for dinner and then started packing to go home. They had to be at church the next morning to teach the 1st of some new youth lessons that the church is trying out. They were super nice and offered to leave their trailer there for us to sleep in that night. My brother was staying another night too and offered to pull it home. So we had nice comfy beds that night.
We went super simple and had cereal for breakfast the next morning. We hung out for a bit and then cleaned up camp. We had another easy meal of pb&j sandwiches for lunch before pulling out of the camp site. We caravanned home with my brother and Bob and 2 kids in one car and my sister-in-law and me and three kids in another. The drive was pretty uneventful except for the trillion potty breaks for all the kids. We were very glad to be home that night, able to shower and sleep in our own beds.
