Funny Face

Our little Clark is getting so big!  He is almost 15 months old, wearing mostly 12-18 months clothes.  He wears 6-12 month or size 3 shoes and size 3 diapers.  He drinks out of a sippy cup, but still won't hold it himself if we are holding him.  His favorite foods are goldfish crackers and green beans.  He loves being big and having milk on his cold cereal like his sister and brother and prefers to hold a spoon or fork with one hand while eating with the other hand.  He says "No" pretty clearly and a lot.  He also says "shoes, ball, and hi" if you know what to listen for.  He prefers his dad over his mom, and his mom over everyone else.  He'll occasionally go to Grammy or Papa and will let my siblings pick him up, but then usually wants back in his mommy's arms.  He loves being in his bed and sleeps 10-11 hours at night and usually takes 2 - 2 hour naps.  He has 8 teeth and is getting 3 molars right now - which makes for a pretty grumpy kid with a constant runny nose.  He loves to give hugs and kisses and pulling the books off the bookshelf in Mylie's room is one of his favorite activities.  His favorite toys are balls and a stuffed sea turtle that my parents brought him from Sea World.  He loves to throw things away, he usually picks the right things to toss, but occasionally we have to dig through the trash to find things.

Clark's Kicks

Bought these adorable shoes from babysteals.com last week.  They came in the mail today and they are sooo adorable.  Clark points to them or lifts up his foot when we ask him about his shoes.  And I've caught him several times, bending down and pointing to the gator.  LOVE.  He looks ready for summer!

Just Kid'n Around

Bob's sister, Stephanie and I planned an afternoon together.  We started with lunch at Kneaders - delish!  I can't wait for a reason to go back.  Then we took the kids to a fun play place called Just Kid'n Around.  Our girls had soooo much fun!  They just ran around and took a few minutes to play with everything.
Just before we left, they had someone offering face painting with some cool face paint crayons.
Violet chose a horse
Mylie chose a rainbow.

Clark really surprised me.  He is usually very clingy, but after a few minutes he wanted down and wandered everywhere to play.  He had such a great time and I was so excited for his new-found independence that after we picked up Braden up from school and Bob up from the bus-stop after work, we went back and stayed 2 more hours until they closed.  Lots of fun!

Pictures

I took the kids to Kiddie Kandids on Monday to get some pictures taken.  I got this of the 3 of them on CD so I can post it here and make whatever copies I want.  Aren't they cute?!  It took a while to get Clark to warm up to getting them taken so we didn't get many smiles of him.
We also got to go down and see Santa.  The camera stopped working while we were waiting in line, so Santa invited all the kids to come sit while he read them a story.  It was the most adorable thing ever.  Once they got the camera back up and working, we got back in line to get pictures.  Santa was so great with the kids, but Clark immediately started crying.  So our cute photo with Santa includes a screaming Clark.  I wouldn't have it any other way though,  because that is who he is right now - terrified of anyone other than mom and dad.

Clark's 1st Birthday Party

Clark turned 1 on the 25th of November!  We combined his party with his cousin, Corbin, who is 9 days older than Clark.  I did a Woodland Creatures theme to the party decor.  We borrowed these logs from a kind neighbor who had cut a tree down this summer.  We gathered the owls and bears from the kids' rooms, the greenery is a wreath that I bought from the Christmas decor at Target and my Sister-in-law (Corbin's mommy) brought the birthday balloons.

We chose food for the lunch that the boys would like: Rolls baked with parmesan cheese with sliced apples & bananas and a fruit dip.

2 soups made by our Moms.  Chicken Noodle & Baked Potato

My sister-in-law made these acorns with hershey kisses, mini nutter-butters, and a peanut butter chip glued together with peanut butter and chocolate frosting. Yum!

I made these acorns with donut holes dipped in frosting and then in sprinkles with a pretzel stick in the middle.

The birthday boys eating lunch:

Opening their piles of gifts! I bought their matching shirts at Gymboree this summer for around $2 a piece.  They both wore a long-sleeved shirt underneath, camo pants (that I just happened to have in 2 sizes that fit them) and they both had mohawks.

All the kids wanted in on the present opening fun too.

Waiting for their cupcakes.  Not really sure what is happening.

Corbin dug right in, but Clark wasn't so sure and definitely did not like all the attention.

In between bouts of whining to get me to hold him, he'd take tiny bites of his cupcake if I fed it to him.  No huge cake messes from this boy.
Happy 1st Birthday Clark!  We love you!

Watch Out!

He's a climber!  Clark started crawling at about 10 months and climbing & cruising along furniture at about 11 months.  Now begins putting the baby gates up to keep this busy kid out of places he shouldn't be and to keep him safe.  He does love to sit on this one step we have though - I think he feels like a big boy sitting there. Love!

Loving Siblings

Mylie and Clark have a typical sibling relationship.  Lots of fighting already and lots of LOVES!  She still begs to hold him even though he is now half her size.  Sometimes he'll hold still enough while drinking his bottle that she can still hold him.  And occasionally they give each other hugs and kisses.  I love being able to document these sweet moments on camera.
