The bill (which also includes his cleaning before these amounts) reads like this:
Frenulectomy-separate procedure: 419.00
Dr. (courtesy): -416.00
!!!!!
He pretty much wrote off the whole thing! (And probably meant to, but I'm not gonna complain about $3!)
He's done this on several of our past bills: I once only had to pay for 1 of 2 cavity fillings, he did some dental work for FREE as my wedding gift instead of sending a check, and routinely gives me free prescription toothpaste (I need it...).
Add to that - he remembers my name each visit BEFORE looking at the patient chart, even when my son is the patient. He is very caring and loves to share jokes while working. His nurses, hygienists, & receptionists are all just as friendly. Every one treats us like we are a close family friend.
Our family has been going to that office since before he took over the practice, when I was little.
I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a GREAT dentist!
ETA: Our billing results are probably not typical. Bob's work does not offer insurance, so I'm sure that the dentist gives us the occasional BIG break because we are not insured and because we are long-time patients.

I love that man! In fact I'm scared to go to a dentist here, because I know I won't like them as much.
I know it! Even when we lived in Nampa, I still drove the 30 minutes to him - it's just not worth it to me to find a new dentist.
What an awesome deal. It is so awesome when you can find someone you really like and trust for your health care needs.
